Sonja Vuk is an artist and visual art educator currently employed as assistant professor in the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. She took a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, from the Academy of Fine Arts and Artistic Expression in Tilburg, the Netherlands, and did a post-graduate course in three-dimensional art at the same institution. She took a master’s in video and new media from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, and is currently enrolled in the fine arts doctoral course at the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana.
Sonja Vuk works with video art and interdisciplinary projects and interdisciplinary projects that test out social questions, in which experts from various domains, primarily from education, psychology and sociology are networked. She puts on solo shows and takes part in numerous collective exhibitions and video festivals worldwide (Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb; White Columns, New York; Akureyri Art Museum, Iceland; Arnolfini, Bristol, and so on). She gives lectures and holds workshops about artistic projects and the results of her own visual and educational practices at numerous symposia and conferences in Croatia and elsewhere.
